For most of Canvas’s history, the world could be divided into two distinct sides: the explored and unexplored world.
The settled side included Valeia (humanity’s birthplace), Desemus, and Okaijin.
Valeia is a relatively peaceful continent with a diverse set of biomes. It features snowy tundras to the north, temperate prairies in the center, and dense jungles to the south. Beyond the mountains that serve as natural borders for its countries lie the Badlands. This is an area commonly considered to be uninhabited on account of the harsh conditions. It is a vast, unforgiving swamp laden with fog and the smell of death. Evil spirits linger here, a lasting effect of a dark sacrament that took place here long ago. Despite that, a tight-knit tribe claims this as their ancestral land and continues to make a life there.
To its south lies Desemus, an unforgiving continent that is home to a vast desert. Though the heated dunes are not friendly to everyone, a rich ecosystem has emerged beneath the sands that almost resembles ocean life. Oases and other patches of greenery also litter the land, leading to dense population centers being built around them.
The easternmost continent is Okaijin, a war-torn land that has never truly seen peace. However, as one empire harnesses a dark influence to gather strength, the surrounding lands are forced into an uneasy truce. Though the coming war will be bloody, this alliance may finally award the land some semblance of peace.
